# Connect Microsoft Outlook email

> Connect your Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft 365 mailbox to bitbybit so customer email lands in the same Livechat inbox and customer record as WhatsApp, handled by one AI agent.

## Overview

Connect an Outlook or Microsoft 365 mailbox to bitbybit and customer email lands in the same Livechat inbox and customer record as WhatsApp. One AI agent reads the full conversation history, drafts grounded replies, and sends them through your mailbox.

bitbybit and your Outlook Sent folder stay in two-way sync: replies you send from bitbybit appear in Outlook Sent, and replies your team sends from Outlook appear in the bitbybit inbox. The mailbox stays in Microsoft 365 — bitbybit reads and sends through it, and you can disconnect it whenever you want.

## Before you begin

Make sure you have the following ready:

* A Microsoft Outlook or Microsoft 365 mailbox you use for customer email.
* Sign-in access to that Microsoft account, with permission to authorize bitbybit to read and send on the mailbox.
* A bitbybit workspace where you can open the Integrations dashboard.

Some business accounts may need to be whitelisted by the bitbybit team before they can connect. If you can't complete the Microsoft sign-in, contact the bitbybit team to request whitelisting for your mailbox.

## Step 1: Open the Outlook channel

* In your bitbybit workspace, open the [Integrations dashboard](https://app.bitbybit.studio/integrations).
* Select **Microsoft Outlook** to start the connection.

## Step 2: Authorize your Microsoft mailbox

* Sign in with the Microsoft 365 account for the mailbox you want to connect.
* Review the permissions, then authorize bitbybit to read and send on your behalf.

After you authorize, Microsoft returns you to bitbybit to finish setup.

## Step 3: Choose the mailbox to sync

* Pick the mailbox you use for customer email.
* Confirm your selection to finish connecting.

Once connected, new email lands in the bitbybit inbox on the same customer record as that shopper's WhatsApp threads.

## Step 4: Confirm two-way sync

* Send a reply to a test email thread from the bitbybit inbox.
* Open your Outlook **Sent** folder and confirm the reply appears there.
* Reply to the same thread from Outlook, then confirm it appears in the bitbybit inbox.

## Verify the integration

Confirm the integration is working:

* A new customer email appears in the bitbybit Livechat inbox.
* The email thread is linked to the same customer record as that customer's WhatsApp conversation.
* Replies sent from bitbybit appear in your Outlook Sent folder, and replies sent from Outlook appear in the bitbybit inbox.

If new email isn't arriving or replies aren't syncing, reopen the Outlook channel in **Channels** and reconnect the mailbox. If sign-in still fails, contact the bitbybit team to confirm your business account is whitelisted.
