# Create an order

> Create an order in bitbybit Commerce by adding items, selecting a customer, choosing shipping, and setting a payment method.

Use this page when you need to create an order manually.

## Overview

The current order flow lets you add:

* items
* a customer
* address details
* shipping
* payment method
* notes
* tags

## Before you start

* Open [Orders](https://app.bitbybit.studio/commerce/orders).
* Make sure the products you need are already available.

## Steps

1. Start a new order from **Orders**.
2. Add the line items for the order.
3. Select **Customer**.
4. Add the address if the customer does not already have one.
5. Add shipping.
6. Choose the payment method you want to use.
7. Add **Notes from customer** or **Tags** if needed.
8. Create the order.

## What happens next

After the order is created, you can update its status, payment status, fulfillment status, shipping details, and payment method from the order page.
