# WhatsApp Commerce overview

> Sell inside WhatsApp — connect with WhatsApp Cloud API or the WhatsApp Business App, build a Catalog, take and fulfill Orders, and automate ordering.

WhatsApp Commerce lets customers browse a product **Catalog** and place **Orders** without leaving WhatsApp. Connect your number with the **WhatsApp Cloud API** or the **WhatsApp Business App**, add products, take payments, and fulfill orders — optionally letting your AI agent handle ordering automatically. This page orients you and points to where to start.

Connecting a WhatsApp number is the first step for Commerce. The **WhatsApp Cloud API** is the recommended path for WhatsApp Catalog.
