Use a media upload field when customers need to attach images or documents to a WhatsApp Form. Submitted files appear with the customer’s response.

Before you start

Open an existing draft from bitChat > WhatsApp Form, or create a new form.

Add a media upload field

  1. Click Add Content.
  2. Choose Media.
  3. Select Media upload. Add Content menu with Media selected Media upload option in the form builder

Configure the field

Complete the settings:
  • Media upload title: The label customers see.
  • File type: The type of file customers can submit.
  • Description: Optional helper text.
  • Image upload limits: The minimum and maximum number of files, up to 30. Media upload settings with title and upload limits

Set the requirement and save

Turn on Required if every customer must upload a file, then click Save.

Test the form

Click Test Form and confirm that the upload field appears on the correct screen. Save the form as a draft or publish it when it is ready.
  1. Open a published form or choose See response from its row menu.
  2. Use Summary to review files by question, or Individual to review one customer at a time.
  3. Click an image thumbnail to preview it, then click Download image.
  4. Click a document name to download it directly.
