This quickstart walks through the minimum viable Loyalty setup: enable Loyalty, set an earning rate, create one reward, and confirm it appears on a customer.
Before you start
- Your Shopify store is connected to bitbybit via bitLogin. If the bitLoyalty pages show a You’re not connected to Shopify. Connect now to start using bitLoyalty banner, click Integrate to Shopify first.
- Your bitbybit workspace currency matches your Shopify store currency. The enable flow shows a Quick currency check! modal the first time — verify both sides match before continuing.
Step 1: Enable Loyalty
- In the sidebar, open bitLoyalty > Earn points.
- In the Enable loyalty program card, toggle the switch on.
- In the Quick currency check! modal, confirm your bitbybit workspace currency matches your Shopify store currency. Use Check Shopify currency to open your Shopify settings in a new tab if you need to double-check.
- Click Enable loyalty to confirm. You’ll see the toast
Successfully enabled loyalty program.
Step 2: Set the earning rate
- On the same Earn points page, scroll to the Earning rate card.
- Under Conversion rate, fill both inputs so the row reads
{currency amount} = {points} Point. For example, Rp 10 = 1 Point means every 10 in store currency earns the customer 1 point.
- Click Save changes in the top Unsaved changes banner. You’ll see the toast
Successfully saved conversion rate.
Step 3: Create one reward
- In the sidebar, open bitLoyalty > Reward option.
- Click Add reward in the top right.
- Fill in the form:
- Reward name — e.g.
$10 Off Order.
- Cost to redeem (points required) — how many points a customer must spend for this reward.
- Discount type — only Fixed amount is available in v1. Percentage is marked Coming soon and cannot be selected.
- Discount value — the currency amount discounted at checkout.
- Voucher prefix (optional, up to 12 characters) — leave blank to auto-generate the code, or add a prefix like
50DISC so codes read 50DISC-XXXXXX.
- Minimum purchase amount — the customer must spend at least this amount at checkout for the voucher to apply. Enter
0 if there is no minimum.
- Voucher is valid for — pick from No expiration, 7 days, 30 days, 90 days, or 1 year. The countdown starts the moment the voucher is generated for a customer, not when you save the reward.
- Click Save changes. You’ll see the toast
Reward created.
Once a reward is saved, only Reward name can be edited — points required, discount value, voucher prefix, minimum purchase, and voucher expiration are locked. If any of these need to change, create a new reward and delete the old one.
Step 4: Verify on the customer side
- Open Customers and click into a test customer’s detail page.
- In the right-hand column, confirm the Loyalty balance card renders with Points, Total earned, and Redeemed totals.
- Place a test Shopify order for that customer and confirm points accrue at the rate you set in Step 2. The new points appear on the Loyalty balance card and as an
Earned entry in Points history.
What’s next
- Reward options reference — what every column, form field, and reward-detail metric means (including Total redeemed and Actually used at checkout).
- bitCRM automations — set up triggers on
Points earned, Points redeemed, Points adjustment, or Reward expiring to send WhatsApp messages when a customer earns points or is about to lose a voucher.
- bitChat chat widget — enable Loyalty points in the chat widget settings so shoppers can see their balance and browse rewards without leaving your storefront.
