Full page is a Chat Widget style that opens the conversation as its own full-screen page instead of a floating panel. Use it when you want chat to be the main experience on your site rather than a corner widget.

Before you start

  • Open bitChat > Chat Widget.
  • Use a desktop browser for setup.
  • Have your logo or profile picture ready if you want it in the chat header.
The settings live across two tabs: Widget for content, Appearance for branding and layout.

Step 1: Choose the Full page style

  • Open the Widget tab.
  • In the Widget type card, open the Style dropdown.
  • Select Full page.
The cards below the dropdown change to the full page settings once the style is selected.

Step 2: Set up the welcome screen

The welcome screen is the first thing a visitor sees when they open the chat.
  • In the Welcome screen card, turn the switch on.
  • Enter a Greeting headline. This field is required and accepts up to 40 characters.
  • Optionally enter a Greeting subtitle, up to 80 characters.
Leaving the Greeting headline empty while the welcome screen is switched on blocks saving and shows an inline error on the field.

Step 3: Add suggested questions

Suggested questions are shortcut buttons a visitor can tap to start the conversation instead of typing.
  • In the Suggested questions card, select Add a suggestion.
  • Type the question. Each one accepts up to 50 characters.
  • Repeat for up to 3 questions. Once you reach 3, the add button is replaced by a message saying you have reached the limit.
  • To remove one, select the trash icon beside it.
If you have not added any yet, the card shows a No suggestions added empty state.
Some older widget configurations were saved with more than 3 suggestions. Nothing is deleted, but only the first 3 are shown to customers.

Step 4: Choose a launcher

The launcher is the element on your site that opens the full page chat.
  • Open the Appearance tab.
  • In the Launcher card, pick one of three styles:
  • For Pill button and Hybrid, enter the Button text, up to 20 characters. It defaults to Chat with us and is required for these two styles.
  • Use Show button icon to control whether the icon appears alongside the text.
Direct input has no button text, because the visitor types straight into the field.

Step 5: Set the header and content width

  • Still on the Appearance tab, open the Chat interface card.
  • Enter the Company or agent name. This is required and accepts up to 20 characters.
  • Upload a Logo or profile picture if you want one in the header.
  • Choose a Header style:
    • Logo and name
    • Logo only
    • Name only
  • Choose a Content width:
Content width applies to the messages and welcome screen content only. The header and the message input bar always span the full page width.

Step 6: Save

  • Select save.
  • If a required field is empty or over its character limit, the save is blocked and the error appears inline on that field.
