How to set up conversation starters in Chat Widget

Use Conversation starters to show a welcome message and suggested first questions in the widget.

Prerequisites

• You can open bitChat > Chat Widget.
• Your widget uses an on-site chat style.

Step 1: Open Conversation starters

• Go to bitChat > Chat Widget.
• Open Advanced.
• Find Conversation starters.

Step 2: Turn on Conversation starters

• Click Add conversation starters if you are setting it up for the first time.
• Turn on the Conversation starters switch if the setting is off.

​

Step 3: Set when the message appears

• Enter Display after.
• Choose Display frequency.

The current form includes Every 24 hours as the display frequency option.

Step 4: Add the welcome message

• Fill in Welcome message.

​

Step 5: Add preset questions

• Add the questions you want visitors to select first.
• Reorder or remove questions as needed.

Step 6: Save your changes

• Review the current settings.
• Save the widget settings.
