Use this page to understand the current Chat Widget workspace before you complete a setup task. The current page is organized into three tabs:

Install

Install is the default tab, and shows the go-live status of your widget alongside a step-by-step setup progress. This tab can include:
  • Status card — whether your widget is connected, active, or live, with a link to the next step.
  • Step-by-step install progress — Connect Shopify, Activate in Theme Editor, Preview on store.
  • Hide widget on specific pages
  • Embed code

Widget

Use Widget to choose the main widget behavior. This section can include:
  • Widget type — the Style dropdown, where you choose how the widget appears
  • Welcome screen
  • Suggested questions
  • Conversation starters
  • Redirect destination
  • Proactive engagement
  • Language
The cards shown below Widget type depend on the style you pick, so the list above is the full set rather than what you see at once.

Widget styles

  • Floating — a chat panel anchored to the corner of your site.
  • Sidebar — a panel docked to the side of the page.
  • Full page — chat opens as its own full-screen page. See Set up the full page chat widget.
  • Redirect — sends the visitor to a destination you choose instead of opening a panel.

Appearance

Use Appearance to control how the widget looks. This section can include:
  • Widget button
  • Sidebar button
  • Widget card
  • Sidebar panel
